Kazbegi Full-Day Ananuri Fortress & Gergeti Monastery Tour

About this tour
Embark on an unforgettable journey along the legendary Georgian Military Highway — a route filled with dramatic landscapes, centuries-old history, and breathtaking mountain views. This full-day adventure combines must-see cultural landmarks with some of the most iconic natural scenery in Georgia. Your day begins with a visit to the Ananuri Fortress, a UNESCO-listed architectural complex from the 16th–17th centuries. Overlooking the turquoise Zhinvali Reservoir, Ananuri offers panoramic views, ancient stone towers, and beautifully preserved churches that tell the story of the Aragvi dukes. Continuing higher into the Caucasus, you'll pass the mountain village of Pasanauri, known as the birthplace of the twin Aragvi rivers, and travel through the famous ski resort area of Gudauri. Here you’ll stop at the Friendship Monument, a scenic viewpoint offering a sweeping 360° panorama of deep gorges and alpine peaks. The highlight of the journey awaits in Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) — a cozy mountain town sitting at the foot of the mighty Mount Kazbek (5,047m). From here, you'll ascend to the legendary Gergeti Trinity Church, perched dramatically at 2,170 meters above sea level. Its solitude against the backdrop of Kazbek creates one of the most iconic and photographed scenes in all of Georgia. Throughout the day, enjoy the comfort of a professional driver and guide who will share insights into Georgian culture, history, and mountain life. From stunning viewpoints to charming local villages, this tour is designed to deliver a perfect balance of nature, culture, and adventure.

December 2, 2025The tours listed in Tbilisi under Klook is a scam. It doesn’t matter which package you buy it’s all the same so you might as well just pick the cheaper package. I took two tours and what happens is you meet and a designated point and just stick you in any van. it doesn’t matter which package because it’s only based on what van has an open seat. I know this is the case because I’ve done two tours and same story.I’m disappointed this time because I paid for the more expensive package and didn’t get quality service. The operator was not the same as I have written. They just stick you. Whatever is available. What annoyed me was the tour guide was pompous, and had a poor attitude when I asked for help. all he cared about was getting people in the van. which is ironic because I was always one of the first people getting back into the van. also as a solo traveler was annoying as I would be the last passenger and you end up with the worst seat. although the vehicle was was older.

December 2, 2025Loved this day trip from Tbilisi! Sighnaghi is a charming town with amazing views, and Bodbe Monastery was peaceful and beautiful. The wine tastings were the highlight 8 different local wines, including qvevri-made amber wine. Our guide was friendly and knew a lot about Georgian history and wine culture. Great food, great company, and a perfect way to see Kakheti in one day!

December 2, 2025The tour was well-organized and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We started early from Tbilisi and made several scenic stops – the Ananuri Fortress was beautiful by the lake, and Gudauri offered amazing views, especially from the Friendship Monument. The drive to Kazbegi was breathtaking, and seeing the Gergeti Trinity Church with Mount Kazbegi in the background was the highlight of the day. The group size was perfect, and we had enough time at each stop to enjoy and take pictures. Highly recommend this tour if you're in Tbilisi and want to explore the Caucasus Mountains in a day!

December 2, 2025This full-day tour from Tbilisi to Kazbegi, Gudauri, and Ananuri was absolutely amazing! The landscapes were out of this world mountains, rivers, and endless valleys. Ananuri Fortress was our first stop, beautifully located by the lake. Gudauri had breathtaking panoramic views, especially from the Friendship Monument. And the highlight was definitely Gergeti Trinity Church in Kazbegi, with Mount Kazbegi in the background simply stunning. Our guide was professional, friendly, and gave us lots of interesting info about the places we visited. He also made sure we had enough time at each spot without rushing. The minibus was clean, air-conditioned, and comfortable, even on the mountain roads. The driver was very skilled, which made the ride feel safe despite the winding roads in the highlands. It’s a long day, but totally worth it if you want to see the best of Georgia’s mountain region in one trip. Highly recommended for nature lovers and photographers!

December 2, 2025I went on a tour with Mariam as a guide. The tour bus was comfortable and the program was quite informative. It was nice that we had enough time to take pictures at each tourist site. If you are visiting Kazbegi alone like me and the taxi tour is expensive, I highly recommend this tour. Mariam, the guide, was very kind, and even though the people I was touring with were not very responsive, she explained things diligently and seemed to be constantly taking care of me, which I was very grateful for.

December 2, 2025such a nice tour. specifically a lot of appreciation for Nicholas. he is a very nice gentleman makes the tour perfect for everyone. thanks for such a wonderful tour. klook always keep the standards high.I recently took a tour to Kazbegi, and it was an unforgettable experience. The journey through the stunning Georgian countryside was breathtaking, with the towering Caucasus Mountains as a constant backdrop. The drive itself was an adventure, especially the winding roads that led us to the small town of Stepantsminda, which is the gateway to Mount Kazbegi.
